Ancient Chinese fishermen fishing in the Lijiang River in Yangshuo, Guilin in southern China, wearing traditional clothes, riding a bamboo raft accompanied by cormorants. Those fishermen follow a traditional fishing method, that used be followed by fishermen in Yangzhou city more than a thousand year ago, during which a lamp is hung at the front of the boat, attracting fish to the surface of the water where cormorants can catch them, yet, with their throat knot with a thin string, preventing the birds from swallowing the catch.
