Shangri La city or Xianggelila is a county – level city in the north west of Yunnan province, formerly known as Zhongdian, which means the sun and moon at heart. Shangri-La has different ethnic groups; its people live in traditional style and within the culture and customs of the Tibet. Most of the cities and villages of the province are located on the mountains, at an altitude of 3,300 meters.
